Alan Ruddock CSCS, YCS graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2005 with a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science and is currently studying for an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Sheffield Hallam University. Alan is a member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In 2006 Alan gained certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) accredited by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is also a Youth Conditioning Specialist (YCS) accredited by the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA)
Alan currently works as a sports lecturer at Joseph Priestley College in Leeds, is the strength and conditioning coach for Hunslet Hawks RL, and provides scientific support to a number of junior international and British universities track and field athletes. Alan has also worked as an independent strength and conditioning coach with academy soccer players from Sheffield Utd and Leeds Utd.Alan has a number of research interests including the manipulation of training variables to increase power output and speed, training methods to improve aerobic power, field testing, training adaptations and peak height velocity and ergogenic aids.
